About the Farm

We are a 50-acre farm perched at the top of a hill in Ithaca, NY, in the heart of the spectacular Finger Lakes region. Only a short, four mile ride from town, we enjoy the views and open space of the farm while still getting to be part of the dynamic and engaging Ithaca community.

Our story began far from here, on a little farm in Troy, OH, when Lisa Ferguson expanded her organic vegetable farm to include three curly-haired, thick-horned, and big-voiced angora goats: Winkin, Blinkin, and Nod. She was hooked, and from there we have developed into a operating fiber farm with nearly 90 animals!

In the twenty years since Lisa first started raising goats, she has become well-versed in their care and well-being. Although we are lucky to be located close to the world-renowned Cornell University Vet School, almost all medical care is performed by Lisa herself. She’s done everything from vaccinations and hoof-trimming to emergency wound care and has hand-delivered many babies!

For the last several years, we have been a fixture at local and regional events, such as Ithaca’s fantastic Apple Harvest Festival, Cornell University’s semi-annual Ag Day, and our own spring and fall open houses which bring families, knitters, weavers, and other farmers from around the area to explore our farm and meet our animals.

We are committed to sustainable, local agriculture. Our farm property is enrolled in a dedicated agricultural farm easement, ensuring that the land will forever be used for farming purposes. We strongly support organic farming and local business, and encourage you to support your local, organic farmers, wherever you may be!
